Role: Content Marketing Intern (full ownership of organic social content)
THE BRIEF:
Grow the agency’s TikTok from zero — no budget, no audience, no paid spend — while increasing brand awareness and lead generation.
KEY INSIGHTS:
Content performance improved when hooks directly addressed business pain points in the first 3 seconds, increasing retention and shareability.
KEY LEARNINGS:
Early content reached the wrong audience (US/Canada). Fixing geo-targeting significantly improved engagement quality and relevance.
WHAT I DID:
- Audited the marketing niche to identify high-performing formats, hooks, and gaps
- Built a content strategy around marketing education and business insights targeting NZ and Australian audiences
- Produced high-volume short-form content while testing hooks and formats to optimise watch time, retention, and shareability
- Owned the full process end-to-end: ideation, scripting, filming, editing (CapCut & Canva), scheduling, posting, and on-camera delivery
- Identified and corrected a geo-targeting issue (US/Canada audience) through collaboration with a NZ-based creator
